BlackBerry faces more challenges with revenues
The BlackBerry’s sufferings are never-ending. The company has been generating revenues only in the domain of enterprise software and the growth potential in the smart phone segment is being questioned. Software revenues are all time low and once a smartphone giant now has to answer some serious questions to the share holders.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Blackberry has responded that the growth aspect will be boosted via series of acquisitions. The stock market data showed that share values have been decreased by 3.5% by the end of trading day. It is worth nothing that the stock value raised to 8% ahead of the announcement of the first quarter results.
The software segment is exploding with 150% rise along with $137 million revenues from the licensing. One time license payment is not going to last for long to the sinking company. The recurring revenues are low and company has failed to perform in the profitable smartphone segment, its main source of revenue once upon time.
The Canadian company was once known for its hardware oriented smartphones. The Blackberry phones were famous in the corporate world due to high security standards, sturdy keyboard and email services. But now company sources are saying that it aims to transform itself into software driven organization. BES12 is company’s upcoming core device management platform and officials hope that product will do well in the market. Platforms like iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows can secure its traffic using the product. The software revenues have come from one unnamed party and Cisco Systems.
