The Organs-on-chips wins the design award
The Silicon chip regulates the function of living human organs and they won the award like the Design of the Year in the Design Museum in London. This is the time when an entry from medical field had won the award. The museum symbolised the essence of life and it seemed to be very beautiful. In the Harvard University, human cells from different tissue on the chip to study how different organs worked. As lungs, contracts and relaxes and air is passed in the cells. The Wyss Institute can provide an alternative solution to animal testing for the development of drug. They play an important role for testing of cosmetics or the toxicity of chemicals. The director of Design Museum said that the team of scientists could produce the remarkable object as they don’t have a conventional background of design but it is a masterpiece.
Human Cells behave in a very peculiar way and this poses to be a serious problem. The elegance and economy and the technology helps in all unrelated working fields in a new way. They have created something for layman unintentionally and it seems to display the essence of life and appears to be very beautiful. The Organs on clips was nominated by Paola Antonelli that was from the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The design has been designed innovatively and this made the concept and the application very beautiful. All the previous winners were seen in the Olympic Torch from the London Games 2012.
